Old Farm District occupies the southeast quadrant of Bend, one of 13 neighborhood associations chartered by the city. Its northern edge runs along Murphy Road, its western boundary follows Brookswood south from Powers and Reed Market Roads to Century Drive, and its eastern and southern edges trace the city limits. The BNSF railroad and a Central Oregon Irrigation District canal cross the neighborhood, creating travel breaks that can turn a 1.5-mile straight-line trip into a 5-mile drive.
The housing stock reflects three eras. The western portion mixes 1990s ranch-style homes and early-2000s Craftsman builds, many on lots approaching a half acre, remnants of the agricultural parcels that gave the neighborhood its name. The area developed largely under Deschutes County jurisdiction before annexation, so older homes pre-date city sewer and some remain on septic. Newer subdivisions along the eastern and southern edges, including Bridges, Orion Greens, and Stone Creek, are on city sewer and built to current standards. Homes here have historically offered lower price points than northwest and west Bend.
Bend Park and Recreation completed the 37-acre Alpenglow Park at 61049 SE 15th Street in 2022, anchoring the neighborhood with one of the district's largest community parks. The 6.17-acre Stone Creek Park, directly west of Silver Rail Elementary, adds a bike pump track and skate spot with views toward Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Silver Rail Elementary is the primary K-5 school, with students feeding to High Desert Middle School at 61000 Diamondback Lane.
A 37-acre community park at 61049 SE 15th Street opened in 2022, with a seasonal sprayground, bouldering structures, a dog off-leash area, 2.2 miles of ADA-accessible paved paths, and a covered stage.

Read the guide →I'd highly recommend Matt Ryan as his attention to detail and art of the negotiations with data on both buyers/sellers is impressive. He seems to navigate the process between buyers / sellers to a "T" and he exemplifies the communication and clarity. You will not be disappointed ....
We had an excellent experience working with Matt! He was smart, understood our needs right away, and acted quickly while staying calm and patient throughout the process. Even in a tough market, he sold our home faster than we expected. Truly the best — highly recommend!
Matt is the most professional, communicative, and honest Real Estate Broker I have ever worked with. Matt kept me informed on a weekly basis as to the progress of selling my home in the Bend area. He had very constructive ideas to improve my property and always found a reasonable subcontractor to improve my chances of selling my home. If you are selling or buying a home I suggest you contact Matt Ryan immediately. Matt is the best!!
From the start of our journey to the end, Matt was right at every turn. Selling a house is an emotional roller coaster and Matt helped managed the downs while pridicting the ups. I highly recommend Ryan Realty for both buying and selling!
Matt did a great job helping us sell our home. His presentation and marketing were professional and thorough. He was patient, low pressure with us and provided expert guidance. We would not hesitate to recommend or use Matt's services again.
Matt was invaluable in guiding us through our purchase. He is responsive, professional, and above all, a trustworthy person. Matt was always willing to assist us no matter the numerous questions we asked, connecting us with local resources, arranging contractors, and generally helping us jump through the various hoops that it takes to buy a house from out-of-state. We highly recommend Matt!
